Israel prepares to mark Oct. 7 Hamas attack anniversary

The world is waiting to see how Israel will respond to last week's unprecedented ballistic missile attack from Iran. At the same time, Israelis are preparing for a day of nationwide commemorations and events to mark the anniversary of the Hamas attack. Monday marks the anniversary of the Oct. 7 attack by the Palestinian militant group on southern Israel in which some 1,200 people were killed and more than 250 taken hostage, according to Israeli figures. Israel's war in Gaza, launched after the attacks and aimed at eliminating Hamas, has killed nearly 42,000 people, according to Palestinian authorities. Global's Jeff Semple reports from Tel Aviv.
