Israel ‘turns its gaze’ towards Hezbollah as Hamas ‘almost totally eradicated’

Former IDF spokesperson Jonathan Conricus says Hamas has “almost been totally eradicated” from a military point of view but “not as a political organisation”. At least 492 people have been killed after Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon in what is being called the deadliest day in the country since 2006. Around 1,300 targets have been struck, with Israel accusing them of housing Hezbollah weapons. “Israel hasn’t won the battle yet but there’s good progress being made,” Mr Conricus told Sky News Australia. “And now Israel has enough capacity to turn its gaze towards the north and deal with the biggest and the baddest Iranian proxy in the region which is Hezbollah.”
