Israeli hostage receives hero welcome after being rescued from Gaza captivity | ABS-CBN News

Qaid Farhan Alkadi, an Israeli hostage who was recently rescued from Hamas captivity in Gaza, was warmly received at Soroka Medical Centre in Beersheba on (August 28). Video footage from the medical center shows Alkadi surrounded by family and military officers, walking through the hospital corridor with his hands raised in the air, declaring in Hebrew, "A big family." The celebrations continued near Rahat, Israel, where Alkadi was seen sitting in a tent at his Bedouin home village. When asked about his feelings post-rescue, Alkadi, speaking in Hebrew, expressed his profound relief and urged action for those still held in captivity. Alkadi was taken hostage in Kibbutz Magen, one of a string of communities around the Gaza Strip that were attacked by Hamas-led fighters on Oct. 7. More than 250 Israelis and foreigners were taken hostage in the attack, in which some 1,200 people were killed.
