Israeli military launches large-scale operation in occupied West Bank

Al Jazeera's Nida Ibrahim joins live from Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank. She reports that since midnight, Israeli forces have simultaneously raided three areas—Jenin, Tulkarem, and the Jordan Valley—resulting in armed confrontations with Palestinian fighters and a significant intensification of Israeli operations in the region. Ibrahim notes that Israeli raids in the occupied West Bank have always been a constant occurrence, but since the onset of the current conflict, the frequency of these raids has more than tripled, averaging 30 to 40 daily. In recent weeks, there has also been an increase in the use of aerial strikes against Palestinian fighters, with the Israeli military claiming they are targeting the use of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) often deployed by Palestinian fighters against Israeli forces. She highlights that Israeli forces are now speaking about what they describe as the largest operation in the northern West Bank since 2002, the year the second armed Intifada broke out, prompting a large-scale Israeli military invasion across various cities in the occupied West Bank.
