Italians welcome 2025 with traditional plunge into Rome's icy river

Italians plunged into icy waters in Rome on Wednesday, welcoming the New Year with a traditional jump into the River Tiber. Marco Fois was this year's ‘Mr. Ok,’ a traditional title he inherited from Maurizio Palmulli, a famous veteran diver who retired last year. The annual Tiber Dive has been celebrated on the first day of the new year since 1946. This year three divers took the plunge off the Cavour bridge in the centre of the Italian capital.
