Japan approves $33M for earthquake recovery efforts in devastated communities

The Japanese government has approved 4.74 billion yen ($33 million) in spending from fiscal reserves to support recovery efforts following the deadly earthquake that hit the Noto peninsula on Jan. 1st. At least 180 people lost their lives in the magnitude 7.6 earthquake that rocked the Ishikawa prefecture on Japan's west coast. The funds will be used to support local governments and provide quake relief supplies to those affected by the disaster.
