Jim Chalmer’s reportedly shifts his stance on cryptocurrency

RMIT University Economist Nataliya Ilyushina has questioned the motivation behind Treasurer Jim Chalmer’s recent appeal to crypto. Ms Ilyushina’s insights come after the report Mr Chalmers is reevaluating crypto after President-elect Donald Trump’s empathic win during the US presidential election. “It does give us hope looking forward in terms of adopting various forms of financial instruments, but the motivation is questionable because Jim Chalmers is just simply following what America does, and that’s not a good idea,” Ms Ilyushina told Sky News Australia.
