Joe Biden pardoning Hunter ‘damaging to his presidential legacy’

Former Labor senator Stephen Loosley has predicted Joe Biden’s pardoning of his son Hunter will be “damaging to the presidential legacy”. US President Joe Biden pardoned his son Hunter this week, a fortnight before he faced sentencing on two charges. Hunter Biden was facing jail time for federal felony gun and tax convictions. “I thought he was always going to pardon Hunter,” Mr Loosely told Sky News Australia. “I always thought that his affection for his son was going to overcome any doubts about the exercise of the power. “It is damaging to the presidential legacy, but, over time, this will fade as against other episodes in the Biden administration’s term in office.”
