Joe Biden trying to ‘solidify’ his legacy

Political commentator and analyst Aidan Smith says US President Joe Biden is trying to “solidify” his legacy. Mr Smith’s comments come after the US President had the largest single-day act of clemency in modern history, having given out 39 pardons and commuting the sentences of around 1,500 people. “It’s trying to solidify a legacy and obviously huge disappointment with him not just among the general electorate but a lot of his own voters,” Mr Smith told Sky News Australia. “Doing stuff like giving commutations … is a good way, I’m sure his team believe, to solidify his image going forward.”
