US President Joe Biden has weighed in on President-elect Donald Trump’s tariff proposals, urging the incoming president to rethink the decision as it is “counterproductive.” Mr Biden’s comments follow a conversation between Donald Trump and Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo about the threat of a 25 per cent tariff on all Mexican imported goods. The US President-elect told followers on Truth Social he had a 'wonderful conversation' with his Mexican counterpart, adding that the two nations will effectively close the southern border. Other proposals were made during the call, including ending the blockades on Cuba and Venezuela.
