Judiciary performance in fy 2023/24 - Judiciary to recruit 15 Justices & Judges in the fy 2024/2

The Judiciary is set to recruit 15 justices and judges to help handle cases in the Commercial Court. Currently, over 78 trillion Ugandan Shillings are stuck in the Commercial Court due to a case backlog; a problem attributed to limited manpower, according to the Permanent Secretary to the Judiciary, Dr. Pius Bigirimana. Dr. Bigirimana communicated this to UBC TV during an exclusive interview on how the Judiciary has spent the 392 billion Ugandan Shillings allocated to it in the financial year 2023/2024.
