Jury determined Trump sought to illegally aid election

Reporting from outside of the courtroom, Al Jazeera’s John Hendren noted jury deliberations took just two days, despite the “historic” nature of the verdict. The jury appeared to swiftly accept the prosecutors’ theory that Trump had falsified business documents to cover up efforts to illegally influence the 2016 election. “This jury seems to have no trouble finding that that was the motivation for that payment, that he was trying to avoid having [Daniels allegations of a sexual encounter] come out during the election,” Hendren said.
