Jury finds Jacob Hoggard not guilty of sexual assault

Jurors deliberated for less than six hours on Friday before delivering their unanimous verdict, acquitting musician Jacob Hoggard of a sexual assault charge involving a woman in northeastern Ontario, eight years ago. The woman, who was 19 at the time, accused Hoggard of raping, choking and hitting her, among other acts, during sex following a concert. Jurors did did not hear of the singer's 2022 trial in Toronto, in which he was found guilty of sexual assault causing bodily harm against an Ottawa woman, and not guilty of the same charge and of sexual interference against a teenage fan.
