Kamala Harris formally accepts Democratic nomination

The Democratic National Convention has officially concluded in Chicago as Vice President Kamala Harris addressed her supporters to formally accept her party’s presidential nomination. Ms Harris is the first woman of colour to ever be nominated for President on a major party ticket. The Democrat presidential nominee talked extensively about her early years growing up in California, the daughter of an immigrant, and her history working as a prosecutor. Ms Harris also took aim at her Republican rival Donald Trump several times, talking about how her history as a prosecutor has set her up to take on one of America’s most controversial presidents.
