Uganda’s bustling capital city is home to over 1.5 million residents. Situated on a series of hills and surrounded by wetlands, the city's unique topography significantly influences its drainage system. Kampala's drainage network includes natural channels, man-made drains, and a series of wetlands that act as natural buffers against flooding. However, due to climate change and encroachment on wetland areas, the drainage channels in Kampala cannot accommodate the overflowing waters on a good rainy day, equally with man’s encroachment on the drainage system. Amon Ngabo at the sequel of a poor drainage system and the dilemma it purses to life and water safety that many Ugandans feed on.
