Efforts to enhance the aesthetic appeal of Kampala are well underway in preparation for the upcoming NAM and G77+ China summits. The objective is to elevate the city's appearance, particularly in the central area, ahead of the prestigious NAM summit. The two major summits are scheduled consecutively at the Commonwealth Resort Munyonyo in Kampala. Notable improvements can be observed along Speke Road, where flowers have been strategically placed, contributing to the beautification of the city center. Simultaneously, construction is progressing on the Mukwano Stretch Road, focusing on smartening the city through building repainting, walkway enhancements, and addressing maintenance issues such as manholes.
