Kanungu authorities alarmed as Anthrax outbreak worsens, claims five lives

Authorities in Kanungu have expressed concern over reports indicating a rise in infections in the district. Early last month, an anthrax outbreak was confirmed in Kanungu District. Farmers have lost dozens of animals, and so far, five people have succumbed to the disease. More people are being treated in various health centers in the district. Since then, a ban on the movement of animals and the consumption of meat within the district has been announced.
