Karnataka Village Tense After Hanuman Flag Removed, Hindu Groups Launch Protest
An event in Karnataka's Mandya district triggered massive protests when instead of the Indian national flag, a Hanuman flag was hoisted on a 108-foot-tall pole reportedly permitted by the village panchayat. This decision raised discontent among several villagers, prompting the village panchayat officials to ask for the Hanuman flag's removal. Subsequently, the Hanuman flag was replaced with the national flag, intensifying the uproar which resulted in a lathi-charge. Protests took place in both Mandya and Bengaluru. Demonstrators in Bengaluru held placards criticizing Chief Minister Sidda and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, branding them as anti-Hindu. This incident has led to heightened security throughout the area to maintain order. #KarnatakaProtests #HanumanFlag #NationalFlag #Mandya #Bengaluru #dkshivakumar Subscribe to India Today for NEW VIDEOS EVERY DAY and make sure to enable Push Notifications so you'll never miss a new video.
