KARUMA BRIDGE CLOSURE AFFECTS MOVEMENT OF PEOPLE AND GOODS _ WEST NILE PARLIAMENTARY CAUCUS

Members of the West Nile Parliamentary Caucus are urging the government to expedite the mobilization of funds for the construction of a new modern bridge at Karuma. While presenting a statement on the closure of the Karuma Bridge by the Ministry of Works and Transport, the Chairperson of the West Nile Parliamentary Caucus, Feta Geoffrey, emphasized that the Uganda Wildlife Authority should reconsider its time restrictions. He suggested allowing buses, passengers, and private vehicles to travel between 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM to avoid additional accommodation costs for travelers.
