Keen interest in Barbados Reggae Weekend
Scores of visitors are expected on the island next weekend as Barbados hosts two major entertainment events. One of them is the inaugural Barbados Reggae Weekend to be held April 26-29 at the National Botanical Gardens. The event, which coincides with National Heroes Day, will showcase a star-studded lineup. Speaking at a site visit Director Ryan Brathwaite noted people have been showing keen interest in attending the events associated with the Reggae Weekend. The weekend of entertainment will commence on Friday night with Legends of Reggae. The Showdown will follow on Saturday and the family-oriented Reggae in the Gardens will be held on Sunday. Mr. Brathwaite says the first thousand general patrons at each event will receive complimentary tickets with the chance to win $9000. He adds the first four hundred VIP guests have the opportunity to win up to $40,000.
