Keeping children in Karamoja in school through WFP meals program

World food program has received a donation of 1480 metric tonnes of beans and maize plus 152 metric tonnes of cooking oil worth 2 million USD dollars from the people’s republic of china to feed 165,300 school going children in karamoja through their school meals program. Officiating at the hand over in Kampala, state minister for primary education Joyce Moriku Kaducu said ministry of education and sports will continue to promote approaches needed to address barriers to access to education through combining quality education with a package of health nutrition interventions in school.
