Former UK prime minister Liz Truss slams UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer for giving away a “key strategic asset”. The United Kingdom has agreed to hand over the sovereignty of the Chagos Islands to Mauritius. “It is appalling that he’s [Sir Keir Starmer] only been in power for three months, and yet he’s already given away one of Britain’s absolutely key strategic assets,” Ms Truss said. “It’s not just a strategic asset for the UK; it’s also a strategic asset for the United States.”
