Writer and broadcaster Esther Krakue says UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer's majority win last week during Britain’s general election was built on “quicksand”. Labour won around 34 per cent of the national vote, while the Conservative Party secured nearly 24 per cent of that number. “If you actually look at the statistics behind this election they're quite devastating for Keir Starmer and it's quite frustrating for him to know that his own personal popularity is so low,” Ms Krakue said. “So the real story here is not that the Labour Party won but the Tories lost, I mean the Tory vote just collapsed.”
