Kenya protesters demand action against rising tide of femicide

In Kenya, protests erupted earlier this month, as demonstrators demanded action against a rising tide of femicide, which is the killing of women and girls. Since September, more than 7,100 cases of sexual and gender-based violence against women have been reported, leading to the creation of a new specialized police unit.
