Kenya Seeks Domestic Funding to Sustain HIV Programs Amid US Funding Freeze

With over 1.3 million people living with HIV in Kenya, the journey of those impacted, from healthcare workers dedicated to saving lives, to individuals navigating their battles, has been shaky for a month now since the US government’s directive to freeze funding for 90 days. This past week, the national and county governments held a consultative meeting to chart a way to finance the hiv programs through domestic funding to avert the looming crisis.
