Kericho Governor Eric Mutai impeached

Kericho County governor Erick Mutai has been impeached following a heated session in the county assembly, despite a high court order that had earlier stopped the impeachment proceedings. The controversial session was marked by the absence of 16 members of the county assembly (MCAs), who boycotted the vote in protest. Sigowet MCA Kiprotich Rogony, mover of the motion based on Governor Mutai's impeachment on gross violation of the constitution, various national and county laws, abuse of office and gross misconduct.
