Khan on Exchange Control Act

“Utter madness against the population of T&T!” That’s how former Member of Parliament Fuad Khan describes the recent revelation that citizens could be breaching the Exchange Control Act. The issue was highlighted recently during a Joint Select Committee, where it was revealed that citizens must be authorised by the Central Bank to sell U.S. currency. Khan criticised the rule as being extremely unfair to citizens and called on the Prime Minister and Finance Minister to repeal the act. Here’s more from The Morning Brew.
