Sky News contributor Louise Roberts has commented on a viral moment between the New Zealand women's rugby union team the Black Ferns with King Charles at Buckingham Palace ahead of their match against England. New Zealand's women's rugby union team appeared to surprise King Charles after they asked the monarch for a hug during a reception at Buckingham Palace. New Zealand player Winger Ayesha Leti-I'iga asked to hug the monarch, to which the King replied: "A hug, why not?" “It's so natural and authentic in the way Charles' eyes sort of light up and says, why not? And they move in for a cuddle, which he then, you know, likens to being in a bit of a rugby scrum, you know, in a beautiful, light-hearted way,” Ms Roberts told Sky News host Caroline Di Russo. “He made them feel so welcome. There was no awkwardness about it, and I do think it was charming Charles at his very best.”
