KISORO ELECTS WOMAN MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT

Kisoro District held a by-election this Thursday to elect a new Woman Member of Parliament after the passing of former MP and State Minister for Defence and Veteran Affairs, Sarah Mateke Nyirabashitsi, in September. Voting took place from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with 162,189 registered voters participating across 322 polling stations. Counting of votes is currently under way.
