The death toll in the massive fire that engulfed a six-storey building in Kuwait early on Wednesday reached 49, while more than 50 others were injured. According to officials, more than 40 of the victims were Indians. The building that caught fire housed foreign workers. Meanwhile, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar spoke to his Kuwaiti counterpart Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya who apprised him of the efforts made by Kuwaiti authorities after the fire.
