Kuwaiti Emir calls for Gaza ceasefire at GCC summit opening | ABS-CBN News

Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-sabah called for a ceasefire in Gaza on Sunday (December 1) during the opening of the 45th session of the Gulf Cooperation Council in Kuwait. The summit comes several days after a U.S. and France brokered ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran-backed group Hezbollah came into effect in Lebanon, ending their deadliest confrontation in years. Israel is still fighting on its southern front against the Palestinian militant group Hamas, in the Gaza Strip. The council repeatedly affirmed its support for Lebanon during the conflict and called for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
