LA fires death toll rises as officials warn against looting and price hikes | BBC News
At least 16 people have been killed and another 13 missing from the devastating Los Angeles fires, the LA Medical Examiner's Office has confirmed. Eleven deaths are linked to the Eaton fire, and five to the Palisades fire, but officials expect those numbers to rise. Firefighters are making an all-out assault to prevent the largest of the deadly wildfires from spreading into one of the city's most exclusive neighbourhoods. Aerial crews have been bombarding the flaming hills with water and fire retardant to hold back the Palisades fire, which is now menacing Brentwood, home to the world-famous Getty Center art museum.
