LA Wildfires: Evacuees share stories of their escape as flames ravage homes
The two biggest fires devastating the Los Angeles area grew slightly Friday. The Palisades Fire continued to burn east prompting more evacuation orders and warnings in Brentwood and Encino. Evacuees recounted living through the blazing fire. “I don't want to lose 19 years of memories and everything in my house, but what can we do,” one evacuee said. While most evacuees decided to flee, some decided otherwise. Jonathan was “determined” to stay. “80 per cent of my house is empty,” he said. The fires have killed at least 11 people, obliterated neighbourhoods and left the nation’s second-largest city on edge.
