Officials at a press conference Monday warned that the wildfire situation in Los Angeles remains critical until Wednesday. “The National Weather Service is predicting close to hurricane force level winds, and so we're making urgent preparations,” Mayor Karen Bass said. The Eaton fire has burned over 14,000 acres with 33 per cent containment, while the Palisades fire has consumed 24,000 acres with 14 per cent containment, the officials said. The officials confirmed 21 deaths while over 92,000 residents remain under evacuation order with in effect curfew from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. The strong winds have created dangerous conditions and the officials warned that the fire situation could worsen as they also look into the cause of the fire.
