Labor 'too late' in responding to violence off the back of lifting alcohol bans in NT

Northern Territory Opposition Leader Lia Finocchiaro claims Labor was “too late” in responding to the increased violence and crime that came off the back of lifting alcohol bans in Northern Territory town camps. “We heard months ago that there is some sort of review taking place,” Ms Finocchiaro said. “We just don’t know what that looks like. “We saw them for seven months allow the destruction, violence and carnage take place right across the territory when it was as simple as walking into parliament and changing the law. “Eventually they did that, but it was seven months too late.”
