The Labor Party’s fee-free TAFE proposal will be debated in the House of Representatives and if successful the legislation will guarantee 100,000 free TAFE places per year. Under the proposal, university and TAFE students in the outer suburbs of major cities will have access to new 'study hubs' which include free access to computers, high-speed internet and in-person academic support. More than 500,000 free TAFE positions have been delivered since the ALP came to government.
