Sky News host James Macpherson says the Albanese Labor government will avoid sexual preference questions in the 2026 census data over “social cohesion” concerns. “The Albanese government have shelved plans to include questions about people’s sexual preferences in the 2026 census because they want to maintain social cohesion,” Mr Macpherson told Sky News host Andrew Bolt. “Treasurer Jim Chalmers said questions about LGBTQ would be ditched from the census because he wanted to avoid nastiness.”
