Labor government scores ‘extraordinary result’ with last minute bill rush: Katy Gallagher

Finance Minister Katy Gallagher says the Albanese government has succeeded in convincing the Senate to push through a range of important bills. The PM has held a press conference after the Senate passed world-first social media laws banning children under the age of 16 from accessing platforms. “We worked hard across the chamber and got an extraordinary result,” Ms Gallagher said. “These were really important bills and now that certainty has been provided; we are able to get moving in all of those areas where that legislation applies.”
