Labor has ‘lost sight’ of the importance of national security

Shadow Home Affairs Minister James Paterson has criticised the Albanese government for “losing sight” of the importance of national security. “National security is the first and most important duty of the government,” Mr Paterson told Sky News Australia. “The Albanese government might have lost sight of that, but we haven’t.” This comes as Opposition leader Peter Dutton is calling for an outright ban on all refugee arrivals from war-torn Gaza.
