Labor potentially bringing in supporters of a ‘listed terrorist organisation’

Shadow Housing Minister Michael Sukkar says the Albanese government is potentially bringing to Australia the supporters of a “listed terrorist organisation”. Opposition Leader Peter Dutton has argued Prime Minister Albanese misled parliament by quoting selectively from the ABC’s interview with ASIO Director-General Mike Burgess last week in terms of security checks on the Palestinians who came here. “If you look at the Syria example as the most recent relevant comparison, we were bringing in people being persecuted by ISIS,” Mr Sukkar told Sky News Australia. “Now, the sticking point here is that the government could be potentially bringing in supporters and sympathisers of the listed terrorist organisation we’re referring to.”
