The performance of Liberal candidate and Frankston mayor Nathan Conroy is set to play in the result, according to polling leaked to Sky News. Labor polling out of Dunkley shows the government is likely to retain the seat. The by-election comes amid the government’s recently announced changes to the stage three tax cuts, which saw tax cuts redirected from higher earners to lower and middle-income earners. The poll found 69 per cent of people in Dunkley nominating help with cost-of-living pressures as a key issue motivating how they vote.
