Labor will run ‘negative scare campaign’ against Dutton’s nuclear plan

Former Queensland premier Campbell Newman says the Albanese government will run a “negative and inevitable scare campaign” against the Coalition’s nuclear energy plan. Opposition Leader Peter Dutton has announced his plan for nuclear energy will cost $331 billion over the next 25 years, according to research conducted by Frontier Economics. “I think Queenslanders are less likely to be people who respond in a bad way to the negative and inevitable scare campaign from the Labor Party,” Mr Newman told Sky News host Steve Price. “I think the Coalition are going to have to do a lot more work on the ground to fight.”
