Labour ministry: MOH lacks funds to absorb interns

The Ministry of labour says the ministry of health lacks the financial muscle to sustain medical interns at the present salary rates. The labour ministry is backing the pay cut proposed by the salaries and Remuneration Commission. While medical interns may start duty in 11 days, the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists union reiterates that the proposal is oppressive to the interns.
