Lammy says he could work with Trump despite calling him a 'neo-Nazi-sympathising sociopath'
Labour's David Lammy has said he would be willing to work with Donald Trump if the former US president returned to office and Labour won the next general election. Speaking to Sky's Yalda Hakim on The World, the shadow foreign secretary added that many MPs have "strong views" on Mr Trump but "we will work with whoever America elects". In 2018, Mr Lammy wrote that the then-president was a "woman-hating, neo-Nazi-sympathising sociopath" who posed a "profound threat to the international order".
