Legal experts argue that the decision by some incarcerated National Unity Platform supporters to plead guilty after four years in detention lends credence to claims of political persecution. The lawyers state that it is unsurprising for individuals charged with treachery and unlawful possession of ammunition—offenses that carry a death sentence—to yield to possible psychological and physical torture, as well as coercion. As Jackson Onyango reports, legal minds are concerned that the guilty plea may have been extracted through a plea bargain process without the opportunity to negotiate the nature of the punishment. #NTVNews #NTVTonight #NTVWeekendEdition Subscribe to Our Channel For more news visit http://www.ntv.co.ug Follow us on Twitter http://www.twitter.com/ntvuganda Connect with us on Messenger via m.me/NTVUganda
