‘Leave immediately’: Australians advised against travelling to Lebanon amid growing tensions

The federal government has advised Australians in Lebanon to leave immediately as tension escalates between Israel and Hezbollah. Multiple airlines have cancelled flights to and from Beirut in recent days, prompting the fresh warning on the Smartraveller website. The update reads in part: “Australians in Lebanon should leave immediately while commercial flights remain available. “The security situation could deteriorate rapidly throughout Lebanon with little or no notice. “Some airlines have postponed or cancelled some flights. Further flight cancellations and disruptions could occur with little or no notice.”
