Lester Vaughan teachers requesting transfers

A number of teachers at the Lester Vaughan School have requested transfers to other institutions. This was revealed by President of the Barbados Union of Teachers, Rudy Lovell, following a meeting with teachers. The school has been plagued with environmental issues for a number of years, which forced a shift to online classes last term. In an update yesterday, the Ministry of Education reported that in-person classes for fourth and fifth form students who are using the easter break to complete SBAs and prepare for external exams got off to a smooth start with no reports of illness. The Ministry gave the green light for face-to-face instruction to resume, after meeting with parents last week. A report presented during the meeting revealed there were no emissions at the plant, and all volatile organic compound levels were below the threshold for safety.
