Liberals attain ‘good results’ in some councils despite nominations bungle

Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell discusses the “farce” situation surrounding the Liberal Party regarding the NSW local government elections. The Liberal Party did not get all its nominations in time leaving some of its councillors stranded without party status. “Despite this, the Liberals did attain good results in some councils,” Mr Clennell said. “The federal takeover of the NSW Liberal Party which followed this local government election farce has succeeded but even then, there has been a messy dispute between NSW leader Mark Speakman and federal leader Peter Dutton.”
