An Israeli strike on a municipal building in Bint Jbeil also killed 10 Lebanese firefighters, adding to the growing toll among first responders in recent weeks. Hezbollah had claimed responsibility for launching rocket attacks on northern Israel, including Haifa and military positions, with at least 135 rockets crossing into Israeli territory by 5 p.m. local time. The attack on Haifa, which wounded at least 10 people, was the first significant strike on the city since the renewed hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah began in October last year. Earlier, Israel conducted over 30 airstrikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs, hitting infrastructure such as a petrol station and a medical supply warehouse, marking the heaviest bombardment since the escalation began on September 23. Hezbollah responded by targeting Israeli forces near the border, specifically in Maroun al-Ras and Blida, resulting in the deaths of two Israeli soldiers.
