He will be the first chief minister of Odisha representing the BJP. Majhi, who is a four-time MLA, won the Keonjhar seat by over 11,000 votes. He won the Keonjhar seat in the 2019 elections as well. A seasoned RSS member, Majhi was a teacher in Saraswati Sishu Mandir in Keonjhar's Jhumpura area before entering politics.
